AMD Ryzen 7000 Series, AMD’s Product Premier for 2022 featured a number of new CPUs, desktop and mobile graphics cards, and some laptop APUs.
AMD also revealed the Ryzen 7000 series of CPUs, in addition to the new Ryzen 6000 series APUs and Ryzen 7 5800X3D V-Cache processor.
Given that the advent of new chips had already been revealed, it wasn’t a particularly unexpected surprise, but we did learn a few new details.

Specifications for AMD Ryzen 7000 Series CPUs
We’re still a few months away from the Ryzen 7000 series desktop CPUs’ official launch, so there’s not much in the way of “specs” to go on right now.
However, we do know that AMD’s Zen 4 architecture will be used in the Ryzen 7000 series CPUs. The new Zen 4-based processors will be produced on TSMC’s 5nm technology and will be compatible with AMD’s new AM5 platform, entering the list of the greatest AMD CPUs.

Zen4 will be released in 2022 after the successful deployment of 7nm Zen 3-based 3D V-Cache CPUs in the coming months.
Despite the fact that the impending Ryzen 7 5800X3D and at least one more V-Cache CPU are projected to tie with the Core i9-12900K in terms of performance, it’s the new Zen 4-based 7000 series desktop CPUs that will actually fight with Intel’s current-gen of market-dominating CPUs.

Despite the fact that AMD will be adopting LGA for the first time for Ryzen CPUs, the socket isn’t new to AMD. The company’s EPYC enterprise CPUs and Threadripper processors both employ an LGA socket.
AMD has verified the use of an LGA1718 pin design with two alternative pin orientations. The new socket has a lot more pins than the old one, which had 1207.

Performance of AMD Ryzen 7000 Series CPUs
AMD showed us what the new Ryzen 7000 CPU can achieve in addition to confirming the AM5 socket and showing us the revised heat spreader design.

AMD stated that the demo used one of the next-generation 7000 series CPUs, as well as a Geforce RTX 3080 graphics card connected to a prototype LGA1718 reference system.
The demo video (time-stamped) with gameplay footage embedded above lacks many specifics, notably the attained frame rates, but the company claims the test CPU reached 5.0GHz on all Zen4 cores.
This indicates that a single core’s peak turbo frequency is greater than 5.0GHz.
This is clearly not the type of performance test that will allow us to form an opinion on the incoming CPUs, so we’ll have to wait for additional information before deciding whether or not these new chips will be included in our list of the best gaming CPUs.
Pricing and Release Dates for AMD Ryzen 7000 Series CPUs
In the second half of 2022, AMD’s AM5 platform, along with the new Ryzen 7000 series CPUs, will be available.
